Restaurant

Good restaurants can be found either by searching online or be choosing a restaurant down the street, which is well attended by locals. Prices are usually posted by the entrance.

Additional suggestions for American visitors:

  • The waiters/waitresses rarely accompany customers to their tables, so customers should select an empty table and seat themselves.
  • It is not customary to ask for a tap water. Customers are advised to order only what is on the menu.
  • Credit cards are rarely accepted. Paying by cash is more typical and gratuities are typically 5%-10% of the bill.

Fast food

In the city, the more popular fast food chains such as McDonalds and Pizza Hut are well represented. There are also many food stalls and cafes where visitors can enjoy a typical Bavarian snack. Another inexpensive alternative are Turkish snack shops, which typically offer the famous Doner Kebab and other Turkish dishes.
